School Information Report

Like all children that attend Shaftesbury CE Primary School, we have high aspirations for children identified as having special educational needs or a disability. We ensure that all children are well supported to achieve their full potential. The SENCo works closely with parents or carers, and other professionals to ensure children have the provision they need to progress academically and thrive socially.
Our school prides itself in its ability to offer and successfully deliver a full curriculum that is inclusive to all children, irrespective of need. The SENCo works very closely with all of the teaching staff and, as a result, is able to support children with a wide range of academic, physical and social needs. This may be in the form of classroom based support or withdrawn support, often in small group or one-to-one sessions using resources from within the school and from other support services.
The school and the governing body regularly reviews its provision for children with special educational needs or a disability to ensure that its staff are well prepared and trained.
