Rugby Festival
On Wednesday 4th February, 17 children from years 5 and 6 represented Shaftesbury Primary in the Shaftesbury Primary Family tag rugby festival. We entered two teams, and the event started with the children taking part in 4 practice activities that were lead by the host’s, Shaftesbury School, sports leaders. The five teams in attendance then took part in a round-robin tournament, with points being awarded for wins and draws.
Some super play from both Shaftesbury teams saw tries galore, and some fantastic team work in both attack and defence. In each game that they played, the players improved their individual and team play, and as a result we finished in 3rd and 4th places in the league.
Congratulations to all players, many of whom were representing our school for the first time.
